A CL with the front headlights and grill of the Sedan.

Thoughts?

What comes to mind is the E class of the same era, which shared the front end with it's sedan brother.

The W124 obviously. Even the W123. Give it a try, you never know.
Somebody should do a nice clean photoshop of it.

I wouldn't spend the money on that.
Regardless of if it looks good or not, modifications like that deserve to be in a museum. Not to sound like Indiana Jones, but it's true.

Personally, I'm repulsed by the W140 Sedan owners who slap the next gen front end on. Terrible.

The W140 Sedan in it's natural state or in the hands of a 'tasteful' enthusiast is perfection IMO.

We are talking across purposes I think. I don't necessarily mean using next gen parts. I thought you were talking about an SE grille on an SEC as opposed to a 221 grille on 140.

Oh you're right, I meant the W140 Sedan front on the W140 Coupe. That's just the only pic of the car I had available, and it just happens to have an E in it :p. Sorry all for the confusion.

It's a great example of a tasteful W140.
