A week doesn't go by that someone walks up to me and asks: "Gee that is a gorgeous car. What year is it?"
When I was looking for my CL600, I found two in Scottsdale, AZ but passed on them because there is a 250 mile trip home across an unforgiving desert with no towns. I found one locally since then. Recently I called the owner of the two AZ cars and he told me a "collector" had bought both of them.

Just curious... what’s the difference between a North American version and a Euro Spec w140 v12? And how can you tell that this isn’t a Canadian version?

The fire extinguisher under the driver's seat... :))

Seriously though, 1993 to 1999 -- pretty much the same. NA market probably has all options as standard.

In 1992, and only for that year, the V12 in North America was rated 402 hp while in Europe it was 408 hp.

1993-onwards the v12 was detuned slightly and has 394 hp. Same power for all markets.

I believe you're correct that this is a Canada spec vehicle.

As Peter said, Euro spec cars generally have the Trunk Lid that accommodates the Long Rectangular Euro Plates. I've also seen them with side mounted turn signal on the front fenders, though not sure if all years had them.

The above may not all be applicable to the 1992 models. However, those are the cars that should have the *600SEL* on the trunk. Like those:

This is what a souped-up 1992 600SEL looks like from the back:

and this is the 1993 600SEL Lorinser I almost bought (from the VIN, it is a legit Euro-spec car -- WDBFA76E8PF076980)

The Florida CL car does not have 600SEL lettering, which could be just a re-badge job, or more...

Best regards,
Steve

From what I have seen(In California), they are allowed a odometer reset(once, because of the Kilometers). I would not touch one of these EURO cars.

In the California, I saw one listed for 67k miles. The car fax and title at about mid-streem had this Odometer reset thing? Huhhhh.....

The car look great outside, but the oxidation, and wear was from a 267k mile car

I would not touch one of these with a ten-foot-pole(not in California), yet maybe if you are going to off-road-it or something with it...

This car was weird. It was a 97 S600 Coupe No-ADS. Had the one piece center arm-rest of 93 year, yet not the two piece with the cup holder, or the split-down the middle clam with the retractable late 90 center arm rest.
