Let me see, said the blind man, to his deaf & dumb daughter, as he stuck his wooden arm out the window to see if it was raining..... Frum TEXAS, do I go northeast and then hook a left if I run into France
[:D][?][:D]
Exactly Max, and when you are in France, comes to drink glass [:D]

Sorry Beverage, but I often do not go to England...
There are at least 4 of us in London, I know of another guy in Bristol area. Sure would like to arrange a UK meeting... keep reading all about the US guys getting togther and I'm getting jealous. I used to be a member of the VW club and went to regular meetings, was always good fun and met lots of great people.
Maybe, we could all get together at a Track Day event. Castle Coombe in Wiltshire has many race days, and all the clubs get toghter and have a stand at the event and show off their cars, so theres no reason why us SLKers couldn't get half a dozen cars together.
Salut Pascal !
No problem to come to UK for a meeting, its not so far !! I've been all over Europe to car club meets...
A bientot peutetre ??

Track day - now that's a champion idea!!! Mind you, how much will that cost?? [:(]

Think the tough bit will be organising it for a warm sunny day!!!! [8D]

depends if u want to take your car around the track, or just watch. Typically its about a tenner entrance to the circuit, then maybe £20 for 5 laps or so. I've been on a couple of laps, but problem is now there are quite a lot of idiots who have old wrecks and just go out and be reckless I have seen some nice cars destroyed by idiots in old bangers. Great fun to watch however. As for the weather, just have to get lucky. Of course we could also meet at Beaulieu motor museum or some other landmark central to all those interested.

Typical that now I am in Pakistan you guys in London want to meet up!![:D]

Blue Benz I used to run a Black VR6 Syncro with NS Racing (with swiss plates), we were featured in PVW a few times,.. but my 1st Golf only made it into the Jan 2000 issue (at castle combe). Good to see alot of us VW guys stuck with our morals and didn't buy a BMW[:D]
Hi Storm !
I'll have to check my back issues of VW mags, maybe I have seen your Golf. Did u ever go to GTi International ??
Whats happened to your SLK now you are not in London, did u sell it or ship it back to Pakistan ?
Seems that more UK members are joining the forum, and sure its a shame u left now just as it seems there is some interest to get a meet going.
Potential dates for UK meet ?

I went to the Castle Coombe website for info on Action Days...

Circuit driving shows originated at Castle Combe Circuit. For over 16 years, our Action Days have provided the opportunity for a great day out among fellow enthusiasts. No clubs to join, just book in advance or turn up with a car matching the theme of the day, purchase your track pass and drive.

Wait till they build a tunnel between Russia and Alaska - that - you go Northwest and .... it will make a nice road-trip ;)
I'm in the Bristol area. Count me in for a track session at Castle Coombe!
SLKs in Bristol !

Hi pcorrick !
Well include you for sure. where abouts in Bristol area are you ? I'm down that way quite often, my parents live in Burnham-on-Sea. Will be there on 12/13 March
Count me in. I am in South Oxfordshire. I did one a few years ago and it was great fun. We met in Windsor, drove down the M4, then up the A34 to the A40 and went all along the A40 with roofs off to the Cotswolds where we ended up at a pub with a super HUGE car park where we lined them all up and took panoaramic shots. Lunch in the pub, another drool over the cars and off home.

GREAT FUN !
RE: SLKs in Bristol !

Bluebenz - I'm not far from Clevedon just up the coast from Burnham. Not far at all!

PAUL
That sounds like a great drive Les. I'm one junc down the M4 from Windsor (Uxbridge) , so thats ideal for me !
Anyone interested in the Castle Coombe meet on April 23rd, or maybe even meet at Windors as Les suggested ?
No roof down weather today, we are snowed in !!!
I know Clevedon, not so far away at all. I will be in Burnham for Easter if you fancy a beer.
Sounds good, but sod's law I'm away in Italy [:(]

Oh well, there's always June or September!!! [8D]
[;)] I am from Kent
I could try a "meet" but some one
may need to give me a lift back home
if my poxy slk wont start again [:(!]
Castle Coombe was only a suggestion. There's no reason not to meet somewhere else on a different day.
