My insurance company struggled with the VIN on the Euro. Their solution was to change a number on the VIN till they got one that went ion their system. I will not say who it is as I have been with Allstate for 20 years and they have been great. Any thoughts on what to do as I think their approach may not be the right one.

That depends on if you are driving it daily or storing it. I probably wouldnt drive it until they figured out how to get it insured. Tell them to check the VIN as if its a collector vehicle.

Yeah, they have to enter the VIN as either a collector vehicle or a pre '79 vehicle before the VIN standardization took effect.

Previously registered and insured in AZ? If so, that ought to go a long way. Messing with the VIN is the last thing you want to do...

It is a weekend car that has been getting a little more use while the 420 get completed for the accident. But it does see use on a regular basis.

Thanks. I will mention the collector bit to them. You would think they should know these things. (just pay me. we are not a research company.)

My insurance company has covered my Euro car since new. The vin# is stated correctly and there is no issues. Ask them to "push" the vin# as you probably have to do at the DMV when you get your tag.

Regards,
