Currently all vehicles S600, S500 and wife's 4-runner are insured by USAA. I am contemplating keeping the S500 on USAA and converting the S600 to Haggerty, Grundy or Chubb. I know Grundy will cover it for an agreed value of $20K for $300 per year with no mileage restrictions and no deductible, but cannot be my daily driver. I am not sure about the other two. All had booths at the Amelia Island Concours a few weeks ago, but I did not talk to the other two. The advantage to collectors coverage is it pays the agreed value if car is totaled.

I know from experience with my first S500 when it was totaled. They did a market survey and paid the average. They did not care I had a new AC compressor, new tires, etc.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these three or others for collectors insurance?

My 16V is insured with Hagerty for $230/yr. There are restrictions as you have mentioned but mine has mileage restrictions of 3000 miles / year. If Grundy does not have mileage restrictions, then go with Grundy.

I have used American Collectors Insurance for two of my cars for 1.5 years and it has been fine. I have not made any claims. Price is right. CAR MUST BE GARAGED. No exceptions.

My '99 CL600 is insured by Grundy as well. They did not state that there was a mile limit, or use restriction, when quoted; but the actual contract states a 2,500 mile/year restriction. It also states that the car cannot be used to run errands (specifically) or daily drives; only for recreational drives, driving to shows and long trips. Make sure you look over the contract before signing. I also had to provide all the details of my daily driver, and my wife's car, to ensure that the CL600 will not be used for daily.

Personally, I didn't mind any of these restriction and went ahead with Grundy's coverage.
