Hi, @Pancho. I just wanted to say thanks for posting this way back in 2007. I recently bought an '03 CLK 430 with 70,000 miles on it, and after driving away with it I noticed the blower fan was completely whacked—as if it had a mind of its own. It had a sort of sadistic quality to it when in AUTO mode: If it were really hot outside, then it would make you wait. And wait. And then it would blast. And then it would stop altogether. And then, after a while, it would settle into a reasonable response.

Your terrific PDF helped me to replace it for $70 as opposed to whatever my mechanic or the dealer would have wanted. And while I love my mechanic—I trust him implicitly—sometimes it's fun to fix stuff yourself when you can, particularly if it can save you some bucks. Something about doing it yourself that makes the working result a bit more satisfying.

Next up: The LCD screens on my instrument cluster. I know *what* I need to do; I'm just having trouble getting the darned thing out of the dash. For that I might have my mechanic hook me up with his dash puller.

You are most welcome. I am glad to have been of help. Best of luck with your CLK. I love mine.
