Hi, mercedes owners! So, my problem is that i have w126 500 sel and i'd like to swap my 117.963 to m117.968. Maybe somebody had already carried out such opreation. I'd like to know is it possible to use K-jet from 117.963 on 117.968 instead of KE. What other parts i'll need to change. Thanks a lot. Sorry for my english ))

Hi Anton, and welcome.

Yes, it is possible to fit the earlier k-jet from a 500 onto a later 560 engine.

You may also consider fitting the earlier 500 ignition system so as to get rid of all the electronics. The advance curve of the 500 will be OK for the 560. This will also allow you to get rid of the crank sensor in the back and cleaer the earlier transmission bellhousing.

You might also consider swapping the camshafts as later 560 camshafts design was made to meet emissions rules in combination with all the electronic stuff.

So basically, if you transfer all of this you will end up with a stroked 500 with all parts meant to work together. I did it myself but the engine is not yet in the car so I can't tell you if it works well yet.
