As the 140 and 129, and even the 202 age, the inside mirrors tend to deteriorate and break. At up to almost $1000 a piece it's a tough choice. I found that the 124 and 126 mirrors fit perfectly into the retainer and still "pop out" in case of a collision. I had replaced one with a glue on unit to the windshield but found this is better. Only the garage door function is eliminated, but door locks etc. still work. Mirrors are about $40.00 through Worldpac etc.
