Does anyone know how to clean injectors that are removed from the engine?

Do they have to be pressurized?

Or will a good solvent tank do the job?

Or is this not even possible?

lot of good info if you search for cleaning injectors..
i followed a couple of threads and purchased a cheap ultrasonic cleaner designed for jewelry and used injector cleaner to clean ours and it worked great...
also used an old electric fuel pump i had lying around and same cleaner with a 12 volt battery to "flush" them as well..
good luck and do not use wife/girlfreind/moms cleaner for this job.....don't ask how i know

Very cool and helpful info. I am looking for one now on eBay. Thanks guys!

Any other ideas, feel free to share.

PS: Thanks for the wife's cleanser tips. Mine is a neat freak...she'd have me using Windex on them in no time. I can hear it now: "Why do you need to use that smelly stuff? Use some Windex instead...it smells pretty".

i have done that too on different cars, but that did not work on the benz...
so while i was replacing the injector seals(highly recomended) i followed the advise of others and did the cleaning as well..
well worth the effort...
and don't forget to replace those crappy old hoses also...

My car is having issues that will require me to clean them off the motor. A jab of techron won't do it...but I wish it would.

I did what Tork'd did and checked the spray pattern and volume while I was at it. Of course our injectors are so expensive that anything that can be done to save them is worth it.

Yep. About $40 each that includes the seals, etc.

I am gonna try the ultra sonic methid and the blast cleaner through them with a fuel pump method.

I was referring to our having d-Jet injectors. List about $250.00 each. I have seen them as low as $166.00 each.:crybaby2::crybaby2:

I thought they could not be rebuilt or refurbished. But I once thought the earth was round or ovate. Either way it is a good price if they have been tested and flow checked. Plus Germanstar is guaranteeing them I hope.
