Hello,
are there any provision for a switch on the working group to see if it’s engaged or not?
whilst doing some dash work, I’d thought it would be handy to have an indicator light for working group.

cheers

I am unaware of any - but can be fabricated I am sure. However, you will know when you have working group engaged - everything is at snail's pace ! I have found that I realy have no need for one......

I don't think it does, can't see anything the switch will screw into on a UG3/45

The UG100 does have have an indictor switch on it, I didn't bother to connect it... yet. That's the thing under the black plastic cap next to the big bolt on top of the working group.

My linkage is a bit clunky, so it usually takes a few tries to get in / out. So whilst mucking around with wiring, I just thought it would be a nice to have on the dash instead of let clutch out to check.

Driven about 10,000km in it so far, and it is great. So much quieter and easier to change gears. The gear ratios are totally different, so that took a bit of getting used to, 7th is the same as 8th gear on the old one. The only time I miss the Claas overdrive in on the steep hill in twisty mountains, where the half gear would be useful. I find I can drive at 40-45kph but I can't get into 6th gear as the rev drop too, and I'm not at max boost (2200rpm/20PSI) as that's down to 1600rpm in 6th ( I lose 3-4kph in the time it takes to change from 5 to 6th. This mean I have to sit in 5th gear at 40kph a lot more than I used to before, no big deal for me as I am not in a hurry, but it occasionally means I end up with a few cars behind me. With the old gearbox and the Claas, I could be half a gear ahead and doing around 50kph. This is also because of my little turbo, which probably restricts things so I don't really like to rev past 2500rpm. I'll eventually get it onto a dyno, and see how it performs over the rev range, and then see what alternative I can get, maybe go a bit bigger on the exhaust side - from the GT2860RS to a GT2868, or a GTX3071. As you can tell from the gearing, I need more power/ torque at 1600rpm, which means more boost as at the moment I'm getting around 12-13PSI, and the EGTs climb over 620C ( before turbo) when the boost is less than 17-18PSI. The turbo is making 0.5PSI at idle :) I just need to do the science in this, there are loads of options, and more opinions on this than there are options :)

I see loads of truck with big turbos making with 25+ PSI boost, but that;s over 2500rpm, if the same turbo made 20PSI at 1600rpm, them I'm in, but I've never seen any real world tests that show that happening. I also need a watercooled / ball bearing turbo, as I have the small oil pump and squirters, to if I went to a standard oil cooled one, I'd have to upgrade the oilpump as well, and that would be a pain in the backside.

At 1600 rpm in my 4.8t U1300L on 365s with a OM352A (ex-ADF engine, most likely rebuild just before auctioning off) I have enough power to accelerate in any gear even uphill. It has “a” turbo and I have no idea about boost figures.
