Hello folks.

We recently purchased an A160 as a second car. My wife uses it all the time. We live out of town so it does a daily highway commute of about 100km return. Seems a great little car and remarkably spacious inside.

The first thing that needs to be done is to fix the right turn signal. It blinks at about twice the speed of the left side. My guess is that there is a flasher unit somewhere that I can replace. Hopefully one that I can get over the counter from a parts store here in Aust.

Am I on the right track? Where can I find the faulty part in the car so I can take it to a shop for replacement?

With thanks

Greg

Hello Greg, I had this problem with my b class. Does your mirrors open and close when locking/opening? It's possible that the cables have snapped. The A and B class are well known for this problem. I had to get a auto electrician to strip the mirror down to repair it. It's a pain because all the cables are black.

The turn signal relay in w168 is built within the the speedometer cluster, however, I'm sure the problem is not there.
If all indicator 6 bulbs work, remove the bulbs one by one and check if it's the correct bulb and these is no sign of poor contact.

Know your stuff forrera! I have a bulb not working but a simple swap confirmed a new bulb is all I need. Another thing I like about this little car is that my big gorilla paws can access things like indicator bulbs and the oil filter, despite their location. Love German engineering!

I guess the rapid flashing was letting me know I had a bulb out. Thank you for the pointer.
