Hey Dave !

Well I found that the easiest and least expensive solution to my beadlock issue is changing to 10 bolt hubs...

I think the best way to contact them is through telephone, I'm hoping to receive the shipment on or around 10 May.

Give'em a call and let me know !

I have to say Simon at Atkinson is fantastic at getting back to my emails, even when I bombard him with relentless and tedious questions.I went up recently to collect an upgraded I/P and they took the time for a tour, coffee was great, and I could have walked out of there with a lot of shiny parts!!

Well the crate is here! Greg had it shipped to me as he is out of the state until July. Everything is here and in excellent condition! Thought I would post some photos of the goodies! First up are two of the sound control dog house covers. I ordered one for myself and Rick Montez ordered one. I couldn't resist the two sets of Super fast ring & pinions that Simon had so I picked those up. (Now I have to find some trucks for them!) And last are Greg's new hubs that he wanted.

Just how much of a pain in [email protected]#$$%^ is it to switch those fast axle assemblies? Just wondering how much time it takes if you have to start with them on the unit?

You have to pull the axle out to do it. But once its out, it just takes a few hours to make sure you have it set up right. Then just put it all back together again! These will be used with Fast axle hub gears to give a final ratio of 4.93 to 1.

I think they will, as long as you don't have the heavy duty axles.

Don't forget the dozens of shims you need on hand of varying thicknesses to get the gear lash properly set. Getting the gear lash right the first time does not happen very often. We generally have to tear down and put back together a couple of times per axle before the gear lash is where it needs to be. All this after using the calculation sheet from the Tech Data Handbook. These suckers are heavy and having the factory assembly jigs would be nice, but you make do with what you have.

FYI, the gear sets are matched and marked with numbers at the factory. These numbers are used to calculate shim thicknesses needed for assembly. Whatever you do, keep these gear sets together or your life will be miserable.

The sets VON has will work in the U1300L.

Would it not be easier to use the old set of used bearings and hone the race out just a hair bigger so you don't havet to press the bearings on and off the Pinion ect.
