I believe in the ULTIMATE STICKY FAQ/DIY section there is a link to a russian website with many manuals. Have heard this site might be shut down now but never hurts to check.

Hello Gas!
Many thanks for the information!
Work only the beginnings, now I assort the car.
Condition very bad... 11 years stood in the street without movement.
In Russia on this model in general there is no information though to the Olympic Games-80 in Moscow them (unimog) have delivered big ammount.
Photos I will try to throw off.
Yours faithfully.
Rinat.

looks nice

Prompt please the size of a tire on Unimog 421.
At me stand 16-20, at turning movement they touch absorbers.

I think 16-20 are HUGE:eek: tires for a 421.
Usually MB recommends 10.5-18, 10.5-20 and 12,5-18/20. Some people will use 20 rims (406/416) in a 421 .....
My guess is that you will need spacers if you want to keep those tires.
Maybe someone from the forum can post pictures of spacers I do not have any.
Good luck!

Tires I think to change, those that by the car old and with cuts. Simply thought that it is the correct size.
Many thanks, I will search 10.5-20, these like not for the expensive... At a rate of 16-20 in Russia only Michelin at the price of 2700$ for 1 wheel.:crybaby2:
Thanks!

Like MOGME said, if you can find some 11x20 rims, you should be able to find a lot of tires that fit it pretty cheap. I bought 7 "new" 14.5R20's for about $140 each.

Of course I don't know if you can find 11x20 rims or even cheap surplus tires in Russia though?

Nice truck!

Check with these guys, they have some in English as well as German

Personally I'd recommend the blue "table book" or technical info book, a workshop manual (Spendy but really thorough) as well as an owners manual. I prefer to have both a German owners manual and an English owners manual, as the translation is usually so poor for the English, I find myself referencing the German one (and a German speaking friend) for clarification.

I have the manuals you have inquired about and if there's something specific I might be able to help. Are you Peruvian or Russian? What became of the 421 with the big tires.
