Looking for a good used working sending unit for w115 body. I have a 1973 220 gas in which the sending unit finally died. It appears that the inner cable broke. :crybaby2:

Any help will be greatly appeciated .

Just got one new on line not even a year ago. It was quite reasonable too. In my case the reserve light no longer worked.

I forget where but it was not hard to find but do look several places since I did see quite a variety in prices.

I'll look to see if I can't find out where I got mine.

I think you can buy the sending unit from autohausaz.com for not too much money. There are two different lengths but pretty much the shorter one fits most things. I used to salvage them, clean them, and sell them. I stopped doing that because they got expensive to purchase and some of them are not worth it because they are too crappy inside.

Please clarify. It should be a tube type sender. If you take the bottom nut off the tube then you can remove the bottom disks from the center spindle. Then you can wiggle the aluminum tube off from the sender. What you should see would be a float that runs down the center shaft and has two guide wires. If the wires are broken then you need to replace the unit. Are we talking about the same thing?
