I have had my E55 for 6 weeks and made 2 road trips so far (1000 miles roundtrip). It is an awesome touring car. I love this engine. When you hit it, it accelerates from 60's to 100 instantly. It has the brakes and handling to go with this kind of performance. I have so far found it a bit difficult to launch smoothly. There is so much low end torque that the traction control kicks in and slows things up. The transmission is an awesome unit. I have been using the touch shift to downshift before a pass, then going back to D and letting it do the upshifts. My passengers have found the backseat to be comfortable. I could do without the multicontour seats. They don't add much, except a bunch of things to play with when I'm bored. The cupholders get in the way of the gearshift, however they haven't dumped anything under heavy braking, yet. I plan to buy a caddy for the passenger seat to use on future roadtrips. All in all, it's the finest long distance cruiser out there.
