Just returned from Vail colorado to Park City in the w210 4matic wagon. The car performed flawlessly. 1000 miles averaged 68 mph, 25 mpg even with soft snow tires (blizzaks and 40+ degree weather), a ski rack, a full load of cargo and 145,000 miles on the clock. What a comfortable long distance cruiser. Nice work MB engineers...

Interstate 70 is one of the most challenging and dangerous highways in the U.S., and these cars think nothing of it!

70 is a dream compared to the other route. 70 to Rifle, Meeker, and up to Vernal, Utah. Too many large animals and frost heaves.

Good trip! Hope you enjoyed the Vail, BC, Avon area.
I too just finished a Thanksgiving trip to visit many family members.
Trip started just north of Tampa FL and included Chicago, Kansas City and return to Tampa, 2900 miles MPG 24.3+ @ 72-74 MPH (dam that ethanol).
Had one problem in KC looked like coolant was leaking out, but upon closer inspection it turned out to be AC oil, the compressor seal blew out, and I lost what looked like 3 or 4 ounces of oil.
The funny part is that the system still remained under pressure and the AC still worked. I did have the hissing sound of a low charge though. The only explanation I can think of is that the cold weather and the possibility of too much oil in the AC system may have caused an over pressure event and forced the oil past the seal.
Over all a great trip, not much traffic, the E is a great comfortable long haul ride, 800 miles a day is easy to do, and the fatigue level is very very low.

They did not think about my butt and back. I had to have memory foam padding on the seat on long trip.

Drove 500 miles today in about 6 hr of driving plus fuel stop and dinner made 7.5.
Having no passenger behind I was moving the seat all the way back to stretch the legs. Have 2 different setting in the memory to change on the way .
28-29 mpg.
