I just got received my 2010 GLK a few days ago, and have been trying to import my address book from my iPhone into the system. I've successfully connected and made calls with the blue tooth, but I can't seem to find the options (which are listed in the manual) for the importing of contacts. I've rented a MB through Avis before which had the same interface, and successfully done this, but it doesn't seem to be happening with the new car. Any advice out there on this?

Also, one question about headlights. I noticed that I can see the top of the horizon of the lights when driving at night, as if it's a straight line across the road. I've never had this before with other cars and wonder if it's typical with MB.

thanks!

Hello,

Importing the address book is not possible with the iPhone on the GLK (and class C).
You can do like me and use a mac (or PC) and transfer your address book "Vcard".

If you do not understand my explanation, I would try again.

For light, you have the xenon?

Soon

Thanks for that info. I underdstand the vCard concept. Did you just hook up your laptop via bluetooth the system and import that way, or did you export to a card and insert that into the car's card reader?

I don't have the xenon lights. Just the standard.

cheers.

I'm curious about this, as I've had loaner/rentals that I have synced my iPhone to (including address book). 2010 GLK350 and C300. My ML is old school so I'm not so familiar with the menu system and it may take me a few tries, but always worked, I thought. Vaguely recall one car might not have worked.

Address Book Transfer via Vcard with a Mac

I am having some difficulty with the GLK command bluetooth recognizing my IBook. It paired with the phone nicely but not with the laptop. I am trying to transfer my address book via Vcard. Any help would be appreciated.

Bleutooth vCard Blaster doesn't work.

I have a macbook pro which has the contacts synced with my iphone.

I tried to pair mac with the GLK and after several tries, the pairing was successfully completed but 'receive contacts' is disabled in the address book section of GLK. It gets enabled as soon as i pair it with my iphone.

importing address book with iphone

has anyone figured this out yet... I don't have the pcmcia card reader in my version of the 2010 model, nor the navigation... just the mp3 connector and the bluetooth.. is there a way to open up my iphone to other transport methods so I can do this? Also, is there a way to get it so music can play over my bluetooth as well?

I'm having a difficult time believing that MB actually has vehicles in 2011 that don't work with Apple products. I've been trying everything to get my contacts imported to my vehicle with no luck. I have a PC with my contacts and I will try and import those using Bluetooth. I'll post if I have any luck but from from what I've been reading, I think I'm screwed. The Dealer says that with a BlackBerry, it's one button and it's done, great answer MB.

Don't be too jealous of the Blackberry. And don't blame M-B too much. The consensus is: Apple's operating system is to blame. Was it fixed with the iPhone 4 & new operating system? Have you not read the work arounds?
M-B dropped mbrace support for Blackberry in favor of Android. Why they didn't continue Blackberry support & add Android is a mystery known only to the Elves of Stuttgart. Maybe The Shadow knows?

I have been reading about various iPhone workarounds since I placed my GLK order back in Setpember. The v card on an SD card seems like the best solution.

Fixed! I hate to say it but I borrowed a friends old Blackberry and synced my contacts to it with my PC and connected with the GLK's bluetooth and Voila! 600 plus contacts imported to the Benz in less than a minute! Give up trying to work around the iPhone, it won't work.

For once, the Blackberry rocks! I just hope that M-B doesn't pull the plug on the Backberry like they did with the mbrace phone app.
