Anyone ever have their moonroof implode (explode from the inside out)??? This happened to me this past weekend. Sounded like a gun shot! There was about a foot wide hole in the moonroof. It definitely came from the inside out. Dealership never heard of such a thing and may fight me re warranty coverage. Comments definitely welcome. Thanks.

I had a similar problem with the rear hatch window on my PT Cruiser (3 days old at the time) ended up costing me $1000 after usless fighting with the dealer.

GM had same problem with Camaro/Firebird rear glass.

Moonroof failures are usually due to incompete tempering of the glass.

If you carry glass insurance in your Suto Policy, it should be covered - I know State Farm covered my neighbors BMW moonroof when it popped earlier this winter when BMW dealer and BMW North America would not.
