I'm having troubles turning the key in my 92'... More and more i have to jigle the key to get it to turn (not the steering wheel). Anyone know of a 'do it yourself' solution to this prblem? Or, do I have to take it in to the dealer?

Hey, sounds like you have a bad tumbler. It is best to go to the dealer for that. They can match the tumbler to your VIN and your current keys will work with that tumbler. I had the same problem. Take it in as soon as possible, who knows how long that thing will keep working. Just hope it doesn't lock up completely because then they will have to drill the thing out and it will be even MORE money. I'd recommend buying the tumbler from them and doing it yourself. Tumblers are very easy to replace if the old one turns.

Not necissarily. My valet key was the only one that worked my tumbler. If not all the keys work it's a worn tumbler. My new key that came with my tumbler works with my old tumbler, but the older keys (other than the valet) do not work the old tumbler. Every key works the new tumbler.

If your key will not turn here's what I did to get it to work:
1. Turn the key to where it gets stuck
2. then pull the key out so you can see the benz star or the brand name and turn the key as usual.
