Ignition modes

Hi everyone

I just have a question that I have not seen come up here yet, and I'm starting to think that this is just me, but, is there a mode in the 190E where you can use your deck, lights, and lighter, without the engine running and the seat bealt buzzer going on all the time? I never got the manual but the three modes that are there do not seem to be doing the trick. When I first put the key in, nothing happens, 1st click (from memory) unlocks the steering wheel block, 2nd click turns on the fuel pump and the buzzer which is going on all the time and I don't think it should be, same with the pump, 3rd lick, all the gauges come on, and warning lights, buzzer will go off after a few seconds, but the pump is going like crazy, I don't think that's good for it, and 4th click starts the engine. Can anyone elaborate on this? Am I missing something? My previous car had a test modem where all the warning lights came on, but it also had another click for aux stuff, like deck, and ligther, and all.

If memory serves me, the 2nd click activates the radio and some other equipment - perhaps windows, sunroof, seats, (although the seat move if the door is open. I don't believe the brake lights would function, for example, or the turn signals in position 2. Without going to the garage to check, I think the turn and brake lights work on position 3, when the whole dash lights up like LA at night from elevation.

I knew I saved my manual for something . . . "O" position the steering is locked when the key is withdrawn, the key can only be withdrawn in this position; "1" Steering is unlocked, you can use the wiper, washer, headlamp flasher, lighter, glove box light, radio, sunroof, rear window defroster and power windows. The buzzer sounds in position "0" and "1" if the door is opened.

Hmmm... my buzzer is on as soon as I hit position 1, if I go to position 2, it goes off if I put my belt on, but at that moment the fuel pump starts humming, and I don't really want it working when I just want to listen to the radio. Could it be bad wireing? It's something my car suffers from since they put a new engine in it, slowly sorting it out.
