/that's really bizarre. how many people must mercedes and bmw be able to track speeding at any time?. I imagine they simply compute the time between two points. It would be interesting to find out if the manufacturers set this up also

Some Corvettes have a form of 'black box' device that will tell exactly what you were doing before you had an accident e.g speed, throttle position etc.
