If you could do something to improve life with your SL what would it be and why?

Make a bolt on Hybrid system.

I would use the SL more if it got much better mileage.

Bolt on kit... One day.
I think a fascinating swap would be to install the workings from a Tesla.

@cwmoser "...... replace the bucket seats and console with a bench seat." What ever floats your boat.

Even though the original owner put some extra "wood" on the dash and some really nice painted pinstripes down each side (I don't think they were original), I'm still a bit of a purest. Most of what I would change would be simple things like adding a windscreen which I just haven't bothered to do.

One of my bigger wishes which would "improve life" would be a better HVAC system so I don't have to keep fussing with a system that either doesn't blow adequate heat on cooler days or cold on warmer days. There was some sort of a "conversion" done prior to purchase from the original owner, I've had the system charged which lasted one season, had the mono-valve changed at another time which lasted one or two seasons, but it's still virtually useless most of the time. Thankfully, I only drive it about 1,000 miles a year!

Other than that, the only thing I might do is change it to an Austin Healey 3000 Mark III. I had the British version of PIA cars back in the 60s/70s, but never had a Healey!

I get the AC part. I don't get to use the SL much in summer because the AC is next to useless... Not so bad on a sprint but useless tooling around town.

Seems to be a chronic problem with these cars as there are lots questions about performance or lack-thereof.

The "virtually useless" remark I made pertains mostly to the few times a year I use any part of the HVAC; whether in stop-and-go traffic on very hot, sunny days and trying to keep cool, or looking for a little heat during beginning/end of the season drives which can get a little chilly toward evening.

Spent a few winters in FL, one of which was just north of Ocala in Orange Lake. Must be brutal there in the summer with no AC in the car, especially with the top down. I'd have to put it up or leave the car home!

I do have AC and as far as I can tell it works as designed. Which is not very well.

I cant deny that in the winter it's awesome, top down jacket on heater on full and usually dry... Can't beat that.

Why do you expect her to be brand new when your SL isn't?
Sigh. Have you seen her lately?

OK...fair question. The PIG is 34 years old.
So...a 34 year old Pammy.
She was still smokin'.

How about Pam Anderson at 40. Same age as nobbys car.
Pam Anderson sitting next to me on my "wish list" bench seat ... now I can enjoy that :smile
