hello.put a idler arm repair kit on my 91 300sel.i also replaced steering stabilizer,it was shot.the old benz runs straight as a arrow now.also put on 225/60/15vr yoko tires i had in my garage for my bmw.the handling has improved a lot.the vr speed rated tires made a big difference.the car handles a lot better, more responce.they fill the wheel wells nicely to.now i am going to put on new shocks, and move to rear of car and check out rear suspension.i have had this car 3 months and it is working out pretty well.this is the biggest car i have ever had,my wife doesn't like to drive it she says it's to big.

Hey Duck,
I was wondering what made you aware that you needed to replace the idler arm and steering stablliser. I was asking because I am in the process of finding out whats wrong with my car, mechanic says tie rods need to be changed and shocks on the rear have to be replaced, along with bushings. Information and skilled mechanics are rare in this part of the world, just wanting to make sure my car is getting what it reqires to be in good shape.

hello.the car had a vague feel to it.first if you want the car to handle better do not use recommended tire prssure on gas lid.i put 32lbs front 34lbs rear.the h rated tires are good but the vr rated is more a performance tire so it will handle better, stiffer sidewalls.the idler arm moved when i had my wife shake the steering wheel, all the other joints were tight.i also had a rattle when going over rough road, and the car would wonder on highway,i was constantly correcting with steering wheel.the stabilizer when you pull it off will have no pressure when you move it if bad.mine had no pressure at all.the people at german star are very helpful and a good price on parts.also no more rattle.
