The ICV should be located under the air filter assembly, near the fuel distributor. I used carb. cleaner(has acetone in it).

Hyprr1 sorry to bother you but my local mercedes benz dealer told me that my car doesn't have an ICV it directly just goes through the intake pipe line.

When driving my TE for long hauls on the Highway I find that when i exit, my idle drops down really low and the oil pressure goes below 1 which is not normal for my car, but it only happens then. I am going to clean the ICV but I just want to make sure that using throttle body or brake cleaner will work without causing damage. Should i use something less harsh like WD-40?

I just took mine out recently. You will know right away if it is sticking or not. Carb cleaner works fine. WD40 should be ok as well. You just want to see that it slides easily with no stickiness.
