Replaced my master cylinder today, and used DOT 3. Didn't realize I should have been using DOT 4 until it was too late. I haven't bled the lines yet, and was going to do that sometimes in the next week or so. Is DOT 3 okay to use? Is boiling point the only difference?

DOT 3 is fine....no worries. DOT 4 only came into play around 2000 or so. AND...you ca mix them...they are compatible.
So...use DOT 4 during the bleeding process. Or not.

I had a shedload of trouble

with Teves Racing Blue, when i had new m/cyl and calipers all round about 10 years ago. the upshot was I ended up with another new m/cyl and calipers all round, after 2 years and a catastrophic seal failure, courtesy of the caliper manufacturer ( Budweg, top flight recons ) who identified an issue with racing blue and their seals. I've avoided it ever since. Dot 4 fine in all other incarnations by me.
