I have bought a 1986 300se (RHD) and I drove it home fine and dandy.
The next day rolls around, and all of a sudden I pull the handbrake, turn it and the brakes are still engaged.
I looked around the web and haven't found anything of use to me.

Thanks in advance.

First off, you're in the wrong forum. You have a W126. You posted in the W124 forum.

As for your brakes, either the brake shoes are stuck to the rear hats or the parking brake cable/mechanism broke.

I am still getting used to my W126's hand brake, and how it is different from the W123's.

Yes. My car's brakes are fine, but I find its workings a little strange - sometimes I still try to drive off, only to realise the brake hasn't disengaged as I thought it must have.

I am not saying that it is the same as your problem, which could indeed be a break between the pull handle and the brake shoes.
