Its my fault, i disconnected the battery cable trying to reset a cel but i forgot my trunk key will only go half way in, so i am so out of luck. i can get into the cabin or open the hood. i read a post saying that you can jump the trunk open by connecting a couple of wires. any info will be helpful. thanks..

well, if you cant get the key into the hole, you could hook another car up to your car in the engine bay to supply power to it. then, you can press the central unlock in your car and then walk around to the back and press the button to open it. it has been discussed recently here on the forum but i dont have the thread saved. do a search.

i just bought some pb penetrating catalyst spray. the lock had been like that since we bought it, about 5 years so i dont think its going to work. I just sprayed it, i am going to wait a few minutes and try to unlock with key.

the battery hook up seems like a great idea only if i know which wires to hook up. thanks.

yes. that was the thread. the positive goes on the wires in the black box and the ground can go on any chassis ground. good luck. let us know how the results turn out.

Thanks i got everything power up and pop the trunk. somehow on my 1998 c230 tapping the + battery cable there didn't do anything which is fuse #4. I tried it on Fuse #8 the 30amp fuse and everything power up, the cluster, interior lights, everything. I was really happy to get power and open the trunk otherwise i wouldn't know what else to do. Thanks again.

+1 this works! It is the 30 amp fuse. I was enough of a jackass to disconnect the battery and close the trunk today.

Hey guys. The same thing just happened to me. I disconnected the battery then closed the truck. The next day I went to reconnect and reprogram my windows, and I couldn't get the truck open (key didn't turn the lock either). I read this post, used my second car to connect two wires under the hood (just like the picture), and popped the trunk right open!

For my next trick, I'm going to disassemble the truck lock and clean it out.
