its a 2006 ML350....any recall..I just wanna proof to my dad that im right..:D
OK, lift the ECU, it's on top of the engine in the middle of the air filter, remove the air filter first. Under the ECU is a manufature date and other details, the label is on the manifold directly under the ECU. If it's a 2005 date then I will tell you more:thumbsup:

If you go to any Mercedes dealer with the VIN number they should be able to give you the complete history of all recalls done and due for your vehicle along with any other maintenance performed by Mercedes.

You must check the details as I said, the car maybe 2006 but the parts maybe 2005 and it makes all the difference

too bad,just checked this morning..its 2005...so??
The intake manifold for that year and model require replacement, a hole will appear at the rear of the manifold close to the throttle valve. When this happens the engine will run as rough as hell.

hurm.. now the engine still running smooth as silk..but the transmisson not..the gear change is rough..I always grumble about it when Im in the car with my dad.I told the SA about upgrading the software and he said, that could be a chance or not at all. I need your expert advice on this particular problem..any long term side effect if the problem does not fix,i mean the rough transmission??...thanks..:D

There are two distinct possiblities that come immediately to mind. And they are:

1. There is an electrical control plate fitted to the valve body of the transmission, This plate holds the input and output (turbine) speed sensors and the plate is known to go faulty giving implausable in/output speed signals thus causing the transmission to clunk between gears.

A simple fault code read out with DAS would confirm or deny this possibility.

If this is the case then the plate will need to be replaced along with the fluid and filter, also fitting the new (modified) electrical socket at the same time.

2. I would hazard a guess that this car has done more than 60,000 km without a transmission fluid change and if so this should be done now,

If you leave the transmission as it is for too long serious damage WILL occur and will prove to be very expensive.

You are definately right about that. Four years ago I bought a used car (2003 E320 W211) and the dash showed 12000km. This car was bought from Germany and I believed it was a lease car. Anyway, the used car dealer told me that it was the DEMO car from Germany, but after two weeks later when I drove to the M.B authorized dealer with a DAS check up, the actual mileage should be 68000km. It was the worst experience I had with so many cars I've bought.
