When my car was delivered via transport from another State I drove it a few miles and noticed no problems. The next day I begin looking at the owners manual and saw that there are two ways to check the oil. one was a dipstick and one was an electronic reading on the dash but that the electronic reading might take 30 miles or a half an hour before it would show up. So I went out and checked my dipstick and to my surprise it was bone dry. Fearing that there had been a mixup with the oil change at the dealer I made a few calls without any definitive response. My local dealer told me if I had driven the car for 30 miles already and if there was no oil in it I would probably already shut down the engine so I had at least some confidence there was some oil in it. I added 1 quart of an MB compatible oil and then I got a slight reading to about the first mark on the dipstick. So I went out and drove the car snd in about 5 miles I got a warning on the dash that said hi oil level That would come on and then go off. I checkef the owners manual on how to use the electronic gauge and I thought I did all the steps right but I cannot get the gauge screen to appear. My first question is, on your GTC the dipstick appears to go into the sump. When your engine is cold and you check your oil with the dipstick does any oil show on it? Secondly is there any trick not in the owners manual on how to get the electronic oil level indicator to pop up on the screen? Thanks
