I've just put down a deposit on my (realistic) dream car.

Its a 1996 S500 Limo with 135K , full history with stacks of paperwork.

Only negatives are a 4 inch slight crease in the rear door and a rust blister [xx(]on the n/s repeater in the front wing. Seller says it was scuffed 3 years ago and the garage obviously hasnt done a good job. Other than that its in nice condition, cold a/c. Its in cobwebs and dust as hes just bought a new 320 turbo diesel version. He had the limo as he was chauffered, but drives himself now (chauffer departed with some latin lady...). Moneyed area, new 911's, S-classes, RR littering the roads, unusual for Enfield, London [8D]

Its black, with black leather, tinted windows and private plate for £6.4K.

As I've been put off of a early model by looking at pictures of a evap replacement, this seems like a good buy. It had a good feel.....the guys really isnt fussed about getting rid of it in a hurry and will keep it for me till I need it.

I didnt want to spend 2k more on an older S600 and the additional insurance made me wince.

Errrrrrk 96's also had evap issues !!!!!!!!!!!!!1

[xx(][xx(][xx(] I thought it was only the first couple of years that had this problem. Is the the same type of evap in these cars as the 91's?

Can evap life be extended by changing the receiver/drier, or anything added to the mix?

Any info happy, or otherwise is welcome.
