I own two cars with Bundt rims and they are hard to clean and keep clean because of brake dust. I just ordered Rim-Ice, a product that advertises it repels dirt and brake dust to keep rims looking good for weeks after cleaning.
Rim-Ice

I'll let you know what I think after I use it.

Mopar also sells a product called Mopar Brake Dust Inhibitor and it sells on eBay.

I have never tried either so please let me know your experiences if you have....and any suggestion would be appreciated.

Haven't tried the ones you mentioned but did try several other products, none really did any good.

solution=Akebono brake pads. virtually no brake dust.

If you can use Akebonos.....get em.
Great pads. I have used them on my Nissan.

But some of us have no aftermarket pads.....and have bought our first MB ....only to find that those ugly 1980s Mercedes wheels still live.......unbelievable!

Please post the results of using RIM- ICE.

I just wax the wheels with car wax.

See
I have waxed them too but it is work when applied to the bundts. These products are spray on and wipe off....and I hope they work as advertised.

Thanks for the link. Interesting.

I cleaned and used the Rim-Ice last weekend. Dust appeared less than normal until today when I drove in the rain. I just simply hosed off the mud and brake dust but still had to wipe down the rims. It was very easy and the rims look very good again with little effort.

More updates to come.....good or bad.

"Rim Ice" follow up. It has been cold, wet, with even some snow since my last wheel cleaning about four weeks ago. Bundts were getting black from brake dust but a simple hose off.... and then when dry I wiped of the remaining dust with absolutely no effort using a soft cloth. Doesn't completely repel the dust, but I'm sold just because of the ease of cleaning.

I might try the rim ice, but fact is that I am washing the dust from OEM pads with plain water and brush just fine when I do on regular bases. It is the accumulation on the inner side that gives me hard time, but this is the wheel that was used for about 50,000 miles and cleaned with plain water and aggressive brush.
Per my experience it is the "spray on, hose off" acid cleaners that do the most of the damages to the wheels. Once they run down to small cavities and dry off -they become permanent.

I tried waxing and they would still be black in one day so I gave up and installed dust shields. Couldn't be happier.
