I didn;t replace the anti-rattle clip after front brake job... what problems can this cause???

Fellas,

I know this is a bonehead move but I did not replace the anti rattle clip (circled in pic below) after doing my pads last week. Mine seemed to be worn out and would not seem to reattach properly. The image below is of someone else's vehicle, but I am using it as an example. Strange thing tho, The clip shown in the pic seems to clip onto both the upper and lower retaining pins. The one on my vehicle only looked like it clipped onto the top pin. I guess the best way to explain this is the clip in the pic below is a "+" shape, while mine is a "T" shape.

So what dangers if any am I posing to myself by driving the vehicle w/o these clips? I have ordered new ones from Autohaus AZ, but in the meantime I am still driving the car. Any thoughts???

RE: I didn;t replace the anti-rattle clip after front brake job... what problems can this cause???

On my Black CD, when I got around to rotating the tires the first time after I got it I discovered the the driver side front clip was not there. I ordered one imediately and installed it. However I had been driving on it some time before this discovery. The thing I noticed mostly was a definite irregular wear on the pads, not at all even. But I had driven about 3K and don't know how long it had been like that B4 I got it. I then replaced both Pads and rotors. [8D]

Please don't work on your car anymore lol, unsafe cars on the road are a danger to everyone, just take it to a mechanic and have them do it right.[;)]
