I am getting pissed at the price of gasoline and the hold that OPEC has on us. I was wondering if you thought running 1/4 tank of E85 would hurt a
M110 engine. The way if figure it would raise the octane so I could mix 87 octane gas with 1/4 tank of E85. This should only require a small modification to the airfuel mixture screw correct.

you wont get the same mileage, thats if your car runs on it

it has less btu per gallon than 87 or 93, by a fair amount iirc
Yea it it will most likely eat up the rubber in the fuel distributor. It's not that much cheaper for E85 here in VA either just like 14% when youtake into accout the BTU difference it's a wash.

Guess my best plan is to stick with 87 octane gas and add $1 bottle of octane booster. I am running cooler plugs also I think that helps with the engine not pinging.

What's with the spread between 93 and 87 octane. It use to be like 20 cents more now it's 33 cents more 87 is $3.67 and 93 is $4.00

My understanding is that E85 is an environmental loser in the long run, taking as much or more energy to produce (most of which is not Carbon friendly) as you get out of it, plus you get about 75% the mileage.

hey cheapold, you must be climbing the walls with gas prices to be looking at "snake oils", lol, I haven't tried the stuff, but you should try getting a diesel and running a two-tank system....

I can't get a diesel, my wife can't take the exhaust fumes. And if I ran SVO it only make her hungry and she's on a diet. So I lose both ways.
