Funny thing, I was just thinking that some (but definitely not all) people who adhere to the more contemporary liberal agendas can also exhibit symptoms of hypnosis. What I'd call a 'conservative liberal', in that they follow the platform, but in a narrow minded manner, very similar to the blind faith that many ultra conservatives exhibit.

A traditional liberal may not follow religion, but recognizes that many intelligent people do adhere to a religion, for reasons valid to the individual. A conservative liberal smugly dismisses religion as brainwashing, probably because no intelligent person could possibly come to a conclusion different from theirs.

Unless, of course, the target of their judgment is Islamic, in which case PC dictates that they suddenly become respectful of religion. Almost like they had been hypnotized...

It's my guess that a high percentage of Americans who claim affiliation with one faith or another do so out of a sense of identity/culture rather than faith.
