Hey guys, I just got myself to order the 1.5" lift from Germany and am looking for a set of tires dedicated for off-roading. I found a set that will fit on my stock 16 inchers. The size is 34-10.5-16, they are Super Swamper LTB's. Do you think I will have any real fitment issues. I know they may rub every once in a while, but will they fit good enough ?? And do you think there are any tires that are more capable ?? Thxs in advance ...

Usually tires' actual sizes run 0.5 to 1 inch smaller than spec, so you have about a 33" or 33.5". The 265/75-16 is under 32", so with a 1.5 inch lift in the rear, you should probably be fine. The front may rub at full lock, though.

I'd be cautious about over cranking the Torsion bars. You will reduce the wheel travel, which the ML is already severly lacking in. But if you are mainly running in light mud, wheel travel should be less of an issue than clearance.

That will be an interesting sight, an ML with Swampers. Be sure to post pictures!! [8D]

Oh you know I'll be posting pictures !! Thxs for the info .. articulation is almost non existent, so I dont mind cranking the torsion bars.

Your torsion bars will be fine.

Here is the wheel well of mine with the lift.

You can see that I have room for bigger tires.

You may have some rubbing. I don't know.

I can't wait to see your set up. I am debating larger tires next time...which is coming up.

My tires are 31.8 inches.

Sounds good ... I'm waiting on the lift and once I get it I will take measurments before and after as well as pics. I'm pretty excited.

P.S- I got tons of new doodads for my truck ... just finished installing SS Factory MB Door Sills, AC Vents with chrome handle accents, Bose speaker insignia, Updated Sway Bar mounts, wired my PIAA lights that are awaiting my brushguard that is finally on its way to me after about 6 weeks of waiting. It's all coming together ... WOOT !! [:D]

I measure about 11 inches at the lowest point under the ML.

About 12 or so at the rocker panels.

Interesting ... I have 11" right now at the front frame-rail and about 11.5" at the rear frame rail.

Also, I sent you an e-mail earlier, not sure if you got it. But I was wondering how long it took the lift kit to get to you from germany ?? About how many days from the time you ordered it ?? Thxs again !!

We are probably measuring a bit differently.

I will measure on flat ground when I get the chance and take pics.

(I don't remember how long it took to receive the kit.)

Did you PM me?

Aha!

I lose a bit of clearance up front because of this:
