I am disconnecting the driveshaft from the transfer case for engine removal and I cant get one of the bolts. I have already removed the gear shift lever connection from the tranny. Am I supposed to put the car in neutral to spin the rear wheels?

Thanks

Also I ruined one of the lines going into the transfer case. Does anyone where I might be able to find one?

Thanks

Brad

You're trying to remove the front driveshaft completely?
If you have one or both of the front wheels off the ground you should be able to turn the front driveshaft while the rear wheels remain on the ground.
As for the damaged line, it's junkyard or dealer.

I have all the wheels off the ground. Im trying to disconnect I beleive which is the rear driveshaft from the flex coupling on the transfer case. I cant access one of the 3 bolts so I need the drive shaft to rotate. But when I try and spin the rear wheels they are locked.

Ah, I see. Well if that's the case then you *do* have to shift the transmission out of park. Having the shifter disconnected already isn't a problem. You can shift out of park at the lever (or whatever you want to call it) on the left side of the transmission. The front driveshaft will make access to the lever difficult, I know, so remove that first (if you haven't already). Good luck. That's a big, ugly project you're involved in.
