from what i have read, there are three parts that make up the cruise controlm the amplifier, the actuator, and the switch on the steering column, how can u determine which one, or ones, are faulty if your cruise doesnt work, i see actuators on ebay that say tested ok, how did they test, i know its probably the amp under the dash, but it would be nie to be able to determine which part is faulty first, if possible, thanks. its a 84 380 sl.

I dug around on this site a while ago and it seemed like they had some test procedures buried in there somewhere. They rebuild climate control parts.

David,
General develpmental labs, have troubleshooting instructions on their website and they also can bench test your amp and actuator. I used the troubleshooting instructions, found out the problem was my amp. I sent them both of the units so that they could test them together and I had them fix the amp and tuneup the actuator. The cruise works great!
