OMG people are still having this issue
Many years ago I did a picture / diy tutorial on how to fix this correctly
I am sure it is in the stickies above
not really hard by all means before you by a sensor, check for
simple broken wire fix
really easy

Using stickies would end topics in 3 replies, what would make those 100 replies recent topics simply a whining. 馃Щ

If you know that is the problem, you can do that. Else it is plain stupid to rip your seat apart and find out it is not the problem, worse, you can create a problem that did not exist. It gives the impression to the followers, "if you have an SRS light, rip your seat and fix the problem without thinking". There may be MANY cases the poster may not be telling you why the SRS light came up.

My wagon had the airbag light on when I bought it. Assumed it was the seat sensor, but I didn't touch it until I did the E55 swap, and in the process of programming the replacement ECU, found out that the teleaid not working was the reason it was on. I coded it out and the light went off.
