anyone have instructions to remove the rear bumper on 01 E class? is it very complicated, how long will it take..? thanks

WIS says:

1) remove trunk lining.
2) remove three nuts/washers.

290 in the pic X 3.

thanks - i can't believe the whole bumper is held by only 3 nuts inside the trunk! i thought there'd be more nuts in the fender wells & underneath the car.

btw, i got your pm on mercedesshop - it turned out those 17 monoblocks fit my E55 perfectly so i'll hold on to em for a bit longer. thanks!

I think the sides of the bumpers kind of sit in grooves of the rear fenders. WIS does say that when the last nut is removed, a second mechanic removes the bumper. I do not know how heavy it is. It can probably be handles by one person. Maybe stack some boxes up there to support it before you can grab it.

I did that to my W124 to replace an impact strip.
