Both a friend and I were wondering how we could get a Euro Command. My C doesn't have the command to start but my friend has a US command system.

No. it can't

With an optional connector from Steve it can display the output from a dvd player.

After having read the comparison, it looks to me that "euro COMAND" and "US COMAND" differences are mainly in the software. Is that so, or is MB really building two different variants of the COMAND unit? This is difficult for me to believe. (-> Per unit production costs are lower if you build in higher volumes.) I am planning to export my car at some point. And I have a US COMAND. Is it possible to upgrade the COMAND (=to flash a new software) to show RDS texts withour changing the whole unit?

I'll pass the info along to my friend, but for myself I won't be in the market for one untill I'm able to swap cars (the C is in Hawaii and my ML is with me in Los Angeles right now) which may happen next semester.
