Hello,

The "selfmade-rebuild" of our SL 450 now comes to an end. And in near future I will have a lot of time to do things, I want. So I had the idea to find the FIRST owner of the car. But: The SL is over 30 years old and we are in Germany, the first owner lives anywhere. And we know nothing about the first owner - no name, State or something like that. The only thing we know: The car was shipped from Germany to the US at the end of the year ´74... Not much I know. :crybaby2:

Any Idea? :dunno:

The first owner of my car was written in the warranty book that came with the car. If you don't have that I'm sure it's on file with Mercedes Benz, but I'd be surprised if they'd release that information. Especially considering how restrictive EU privacy laws are.

The first owner of my car was "Luxery (sic) Car Rental" in the Chicago area. It's amazing the car survived its first year...let alone the next 27...

Sometimes, you're better off NOT knowing things like this!

The previous owner of my SL managed to track down all the other owners (three if I recall). That was a British registered car, however, and may have had all the owners in a log book.

I'm not sure that Mercedes would have that information anyway.

Was the car first sold in the US, or shipped there by a new owner?
