When my 2002 ML320 was leaking ps fluid, I put in non MB fluid. What is the easiest way to drain all this fluid from the system so I can replace with MB ps fluid. Will this other fluid cause any damage? Does anyone know how many replacement bottles of fluid I should Buy? Thanks....

System takes about 1 bottle/litre/quart. Open up the lowest point of connection on pinion or lower hose going to radiator, open up cap and let it drain or blow in it to push it out faster. Refill, start it up, turn steering wheel lock to lock, repeat untill fluid reservoir is to spec. level. Other fluid should perform as good as MB but I would replace it for OEM, it's just me.
Just checked my Star manual: 1.2L exact and Mobil ATF D is autorized replacement for oem Fuchs PSF

After refilling the PS fluid reservoir, do not start the truck,
raise both front wheels,
turn steering lock-to-lock 50 times (while having someone else look at the PS fluid reservoir, it may overflow if you turn the steering really fast. As you turn the steering, you will notice the bubbles pop-up in the reservoir).
