In case anyone's curious you can disable your "Key Reminder" chime (the irritating one) by recoding your CGW unit with STAR from USA to "Rest of World" -- (Adaptation only, no programming required).
Then when you leave your lights on the chime will actually be meaningful. No need to recode the instrument cluster to the next year as I've read in other posts.
