The hood cable release works fine, and the hood pops up with no issue. However, when the plastic tab is pulled the hood does not reliably release. It often takes way too much force on the secondary release (the black plastic handle that sticks out of the front grill) for the hood to open. I would like to be able to fix this problem before it gets to the point where the plastic tab breaks off or I can't get the hood open. Is there an adjustment or simple fix?

I could not find this in a search of the archives.

Does it go easier if you press down the hood before you pull the black plastic handle that sticks out of the front grill?

Actually, I just tried that (pushing down on the hood before pulling on the handle) and it did open easier. I'll try that the next few times, and maybe that's all I need to do.

In the past I would always just pull on the handle, and maybe 75% of the time the hood would not oopen easily.

Thanks
