How to Adjust Rear View Mirror

Manual tells all about how to adjust position of door mirrors left & right but makes no mention of the central mirror. When I bought the SUV last May, the rear view mirror was broken and taped to the ceiling with packaging tape! I got the dealer to replace it with a new one, which they said was very expensive, like over a thousand dollars... and they said those are very fragile so don't move it! I haven't even touched it since, and it's off an inch or so. Finally I decided it would be nice to have it adjusted right!
I gently tried moving it, but it seems like one of those that you have to adjust with motor controls and if you do it manually you can break it.
I don't want to break it, so I'm afraid to adjust it. There's gotta be a way...

Thanks... Mine is a 2013 GL450. I will go out and very carefully try to move it by hand.
Okay, I just tried, it seems pretty tight. Maybe just because it's a brand new mirror? Or maybe they installed it too tight?
It's dark out now, also quite cold... So I'll try again in the morning in daylight. The mirror is close to being adjusted right, I just have to move my head a little to use it, it would be nice to have it adjusted right.

I got it! It was only off about a half inch, I turned it a little very carefully, it does move ny hand but it is tight, probabkly because it's a brand new mirror. (Well, four months old but hadn't been touched yet.) Now that it's adjusted right, it doesn't need to be moved ever again. Haha
I was just afraid to move it because the dealer said it cost some amazing amount of money to replace, like $1700 or $1900 something like that. LOL.. Thanks

I owned a 1991 R129 SL500 in champagne colored gold I think it was called desert sand or something like that, that car did have the remote control adjustment for all of its mirrors.
It was a cool idea but you always ran the risk of someone breaking it, I think.
