Hi guys

I have a '94 W124 Convertible which I don't drive more than 1,000 miles a year. The car currently has about 90,000 miles on it. I was wondering how often I should change the oil given that I only drive it for pleasure and not very often. How long is too long to let it sit? I was thinking once a year but let me know.

Thanks

I think it is spelled out in the manual. Don't quote me but if I remember correctly it's once a year for conventional oil and once every two years for synthetic.

That's about right. You really just want to prevent sludge when time is more of a factor then mileage. Make sure to keep with all the other fluids and filters also. Coolant will degrade with time, sometimes even worse then oil.

I drove like 2300 miles last year - I make it point to change my oil twice a yr - i use synthetic. It is more to shift to thinner oil in winter.

About once a 18 months is safe, depends of engine condition and oil, from timt to time check oil visually, level, color, smell, etc.
