I'm prompted to ask by the most horrific experience with bottoming out yet.

I put the car in reverse and heard the scrape, but it was bad. I got out, i see the bumper is starting to 'balloon' out like it's being pulled off. It's stuck on the parking block so as I reversed it got caught and was close to being torn off. I had to go out and 'manually' get the bumper back up so I could get out of there.

Imagine if you put your hand under the bumper and pull it toward you, it was like that.

F***ing parking blocks...:rocketwhore:

my sister ripped the front bumper off of her jetta 3 times. my wife knocked the center piece out of my front bumper in the same fashion, came home with it in the trunk. neither is allowed behind the wheel of my car anymore.

I was pulling into the parking lot late for class so I was going quick and with the radio on. I get out and I notice the nose of the car is WAY too fucking far past the edge of the parking lot. I knew I had scraped it and I did. It scratched the bottom pretty good, but a few hours of buffing and the fact that you can't see it from anywhere unless you are laying on the ground helped out a lot. Guess what happened after that? I found out that the class was cancelled! All that should have been avoided had the professor let us know.

Ugh...

ouch, ouch and ouch!

I love how every time I scrape the thing reversing, I recall never hearing it scrap while I'm parking. So annoying.

You should have seen me trying to 'un-balloon' the bumper, looked like I was trying to lift the car up from the nose.

lol - I should hang some bells from the bottom of the front bumper as a warning system that I'm too close. Just got back from a drive, seems that something 'inside' the bumper nearly got ripped off, I thought it was the bumper itself dragging on the driver side, thank God it wasn't.
