Hi this is my first thread, im looking to buy a manual CLK 230K 2000-2001.

Because manuals are rare the cars im looking at have around 130,000-140,000 miles on them but I have heard mercedes engines are bullet proof.

Can anyone tell me how many miles a 230k will do? and is 140,000 to much?

Im from London, England by the way :)

Thank you

According to my crystal ball, you can expect 241,620 miles. Give or take twenty or so.

Seriously, though, you're asking a question that doesn't have an easy answer. The issue is not whether 140,000 is too much, but what sort of 140,000 miles we're talking about. How is the service history? How is the overall condition?

Thank you for your feedback

I completely understand what you mean I know its a very hard question to answer without knowing how well the car has been looked after.

I was just looking to get a rough idea if that is too many miles for a 2.3L mercedes, Because for example I know a vauxhall that has done 140,000 is alot, but on a bmw it wouldnt be so bad.

So any advice is welcome :)

Thanks again

Generally speaking it isn't an issue having just that mileage on the 2.3, but if you can't get full records or a VMI from the dealer at the very least, I'd look for one that has the service history. It truly is the single biggest factor whether or not the car will be reliable or a mechanical/financial nightmare. Rarely will a Mercedes-Benz fall in between.
