How is hydraulic trunk closer pump mounted?

961 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  wallyp
I picked up an extremely loaded 04 S430 a couple weeks ago (Dynamic seats, keyless go, heated wheel, ventilated seats front and rear etc) and it has a new power trunk closer motor but it's just laying in the space next to the battery and not bolted down at all. Does anyone have pics or info on how it's supposed to be mounted? Also, when you do close the trunk, it comes down FAST like a guillotine. Is that normal?

The pump sits in a piece of foam between the rear of the car and the battery.... No bolting, but it is a snug fit

Snapped a pic of the number of the top foam piece tonight. Attempting to attach.
