I was trying to check chain with dentist mirror before. But no luck. But I managed to get my ex colleague to check it with right tool. Here are pics. And guess what I have it! It is double.

Looks kind of dirty...

Yes, you said earlier that yours was a '85 US. By then (84 and 85) MB was back to putting double row chains in the US cars as well as ROTW.

Yes you are right! I was advised to check it and I checked it. I hope that this picture will help next owner to keep his mind clear. I'm thinking about 560, but I like my 380 so much. Will see. Some day...
